How to use the template

   Set up the report

   Enter the project, site, inspection date, inspector, and report title before the walkthrough.

   Add one issue per item

   Record the exact location, observed condition, expected result, trade or owner, priority, and due date.

   Attach useful photos

   Include context and detail views that let another person find and understand the issue.

   Review the list

   Remove duplicates, confirm assignments, and make descriptions testable before distribution.

   Export and back up

   Print or save the PDF for issue, then download JSON or CSV for recovery or further analysis.

Example punch item

Location: Building A · Level 02 · Room 214 · north wall. Observation: 120 mm gouge in painted gypsum board beside the latch jamb. Required result: repair the surface and repaint the affected wall plane to match the approved finish. Owner: Painting subcontractor. Priority: Medium. Status: Open. Due: 21 August 2026.

This example works because the assignee can find the condition, understand the expected finish, and know when the item is ready to close. Replace the details with the standards and terminology used on your project.

What the template does not replace
