Why we built it
Small contractors, inspectors, property managers, landlords, tenants, consultants, and owners often face the same awkward choice: pay for a full operations platform or assemble photos and notes manually. FieldCheck occupies the useful middle. It helps structure items, keep evidence attached, and produce a readable report without an account or a software rollout.
The first release is intentionally narrow. You can create project and inspection details, capture findings and photos, rely on browser-local autosave during the session, and export PDF, JSON, or CSV. We would rather make that loop dependable than add a crowded dashboard before it earns its place.
Our reporting principles
Specific beats impressive
A precise location and observable condition are more useful than polished but vague language.
Evidence needs context
Photos belong with the item, caption, date, and location that explain them.
Portable by default
A report should leave the tool as a readable PDF and structured JSON or CSV.
Professional judgment stays human
Software can organize observations; it cannot replace qualifications, tests, contracts, or lawful process.
